Last updated June 2025. This policy explains how RO Pearl handles your personal data.
1. What we collect
We collect information you provide directly (display name, email, avatar, portfolio content, social links) and information generated by your use of the platform (search queries, saved items, application history, notification preferences).
2. How we use your data
We use your data to operate and improve the platform, personalise your experience, send transactional notifications, and detect fraud or abuse. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use session cookies for authentication and first-party analytics to understand feature usage. No cross-site tracking cookies are placed. You can disable cookies in your browser; some platform features may not function without them.
4. Data sharing
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (hosting, email delivery) under data-processing agreements. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect user safety.
5. Public profile data
Information you add to your creator profile (display name, bio, social links, portfolio) is publicly visible on the platform. Share only what you are comfortable making public.
6. Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion to allow recovery. We may keep anonymised analytics data indefinitely.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Send requests to privacy@ropearl.com or through the Contact page. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We protect your data with TLS in transit and encrypted storage with access controls. No system is perfectly secure. Report any suspected vulnerability to security@ropearl.com.
9. Children
RO Pearl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We will email registered users about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
